Sachan , (Hindi:सचान) is a Brij or Awadhi language word. Sachan surname has origin from the word Sachanda (Hindi:सचाणा) is a prominent Kurmi Kshatriya Clan living in the region of gangatic plains of ancient Panchala Mahajanpad Region (Central Doab and Rohilkhand Region). Sachan are mainly in the state of Uttar Pradesh in Northern India.Sachans are originally from Hamirpur and people of this clan are found in the Kanpur region of Indian state of Uttar Pradesh . Specially in the districts of Kanpur , Bareilly , Pilibhit and Hamirpur . This region was called as Katiher due to the dominance of Katiyar or Katehar Rajputs during Rajput era and this dominance continued up to the period of Moguls. Vishwanath Pratap Singh (25 June 1931 – 27 November 2008) was the seventh Prime Minister of India and the 41st Raja Bahadur of Manda.

KURMI Rajput Gaharwar (Rathore)(GANGWAR Rajput) Early life He was born in the Rajput Gaharwar (Rathore) Royal Family of Manda to Raja Bhagwati Prasad Singh of Daiya and was later adopted by Raja Bahadur Ram Gopal Singh of Manda in 1936, whom he succeeded in 1941. V. P. Singh studied at Colonel Brown Cambridge School , Dehradun for five years, and entered local politics in Allahabad during the Nehru era. He married Rani Sita Kumari, born 1936 in Deogarh, Udaipur, daughter of Rawat Sangram Singh II of Deogarh on 25 June 1955. He soon made a name for himself in the state Congress Party for his unfailing rectitude, a reputation that he would carry with him throughout his career.

Jyotiraditya Madhavrao Scindia (born 1 January 1971) is the current titular Maharaja of Gwalior . He is also a politician belonging to the Indian National Congress . He is also a member of the 15th Lok Sabha of India representing the Congress party and a Minister of State , Ministry of Commerce and Industry . He is a descendant of the dynasty belonging to the Scindia Maratha clan that ruled Gwalior State till the creation of the Republic of India , being a grandson of the last princely ruler of Gwalior .
